I got to visit Valerie and Connie a few weeks ago and had a blast. It was a busy busy weekend with Casey's junior prom Saturday night. It was so much fun to watch the girls getting ready and the boys hanging out playing Just Dance 2
.
Loved Casey's shoes.
Aren't they cute? Apparently you wear short dresses to junior prom and long dresses to senior prom. Did you know that?
I may have a tiny fabric problem. Our local Craft Warehouse is closing so I took advantage of the sales and bought way too much fabric. I don't have a plan for any of it and I just hope I have enough of the coordinating pieces since I won't be able to get more. Maybe I need to go back and buy up the rest?
Speaking of cookies and baking and whatnot, Christy and I finally decided to get our act together and teach ourselves how to decorate cakes. It was a lot of fun and we'll probably do some more today.
Christy's rose. Really hard to see in this picture, but it was the best we could get.
My shaggy mum. There is a cookie somewhere under all that frosting.
April is apparently birthday month. Steve was number three. We headed on over with a super yummy chocolate cake. After a dinner of steak and salad and potatoes we decided to head out for a walk before we dug into the cake. Here I am with Steve, Darian and Justin. Those are some crazy kids. We basically played tag the entire walk.
These tulips are blooming. This picture was taken just as the first few started to open. They are now mostly all open and blooming nice and big, soaking up the sun we've had the last few days. So nice to see that burst of color as I drive up to the house. The lilies I planted next to the lawn are also sprouting. I'm hoping for blooms soon. I have plans to plant some Sweet Peas Christy brought back from CA for us sometime this weekend and the dahlias will probably go in next month.
This is the most ridiculous dog ever. Hard to tell from this angle, but he is laying on the couch with his head up on the back, peeking over the top. This is how he greets us when we get home when he is too tired or bored to actually get up. We love you too, Charlie.

Love it. I wore a short dress to jr. and a long one to sr., but I really didn't do it on purpose. Who knew I was on-trend all along??? So is it reasonable to expect a fully-decorated cake in honor of my next visit?
