Days Thirteen & Fourteen

So I'm still not caught up on days Eleven & Twelve (freezer and spices) but I did manage to do days Thirteen and Fourteen this morning.

Day Thirteen's challenge was the medicine cabinet. Only one of our three bathrooms actually has a medicine cabinet and since our housemate moved out over a year ago it has absolutely nothing in it. Except maybe a tube of toothpaste. Maybe. So I chose to instead clean out my bathroom drawer.

Shudder.

It's amazing I found anything in that drawer.

Since Day Fourteen was to clean under the bathroom sink, I tackled these two at the same time.

"My side" of the cabinet. You can tell that I did, at one time, try to organize it.

Seann's side. Again, I tried. But that was over a year ago too and, well, things happen.

This is the middle part of the cabinet, directly under the sink. It's a little messy, but since the garbage can is there, it can't get into too much trouble.
So I emptied out the cabinets and put it all on the sink.

It's hard to tell from this photo, but the thing I like best is the Costco pack of toothbrushes right next to the Sonicare refills. Look Toni, I have the same green and white make-up/travel bag you do!

There was a a thing of wipes with only one left, so I used that to wipe out the cupboards and then gladly threw the container away. One less thing to put back! I emptied each of the bins and then reorganized them. Bin one has Band-Aids and Ace bandages and heat wraps. You'd think since it filled a whole bin that we get hurt a lot, but we don't, I swear! Don't you have four Ace bandages? I also found these in the bin:

Really? Two ponchos and an emergency blanket? In the bathroom? Not so much anymore.

Bin two contains medicines and things like epsom salt and alcohol. Then I took all the travel bags and stuffed the ones I wanted to keep inside the largest one and put those down below. The toilet cleaner, hand soap refill and garbage bags came next, right next to the garbage can. So now it was time to tackle all my crap, I mean stuff. At this point, I emptied the drawer so I could get a better idea what needed to go where. I followed Sabrina's lead and used up some old lunchmeat containers to corral my hair accessories and managed to get the drawer looking somewhat manageable. I also used her idea of putting all our travel sized things in Bin three. I threw the plastic quart sized bag in there too for easier packing. Bin four holds the flat iron, curling iron and nasal rinse stuff. The last bin has my hair goops and lotions and cotton balls. Here's the after shots:

My drawer, all nice and neat. Hopefully it will last at least a few months.

My side. I got rid of a lot of stuff.

The empty space is obviously for the garbage can. Unfortunately, it is currently struggling under the weight of everything I threw away.

Seann's side. Much neater and organized in all the bins. I might even be able to keep it that way!

It's going to be a busy day but I'll try to get to the freezer and spices later today. We did actually get a bin for the spices on top of the microwave, but there is still a bit of work to be done.
