About a week and a half ago (time really flies, doesn't it) Jesse came up to Portland for a visit. It was actually just a pit stop on our way to Seattle, but that's a different post.
Jesse is always so much fun and having her here even just for a night reminds us of how much fun she is to live with. (Hint, hint Jess.) Along those lines, there are traditions.
Since I am a procrastinator and was still trying to pack for a week away, Jesse settled right in and began playing Dr. Mario. How could she not? This is our game. When this comes out, watch out for the trash talk. It could get ugly. Unfortunately, I didn't get to play along with her so she had to settle for the computer--not really a worthy opponent.
But there is something else that brings out the trash talk. Talk you can't even imagine.
Baby Park.
Baby Park is the simplest track in the Nintendo Game Cube version of Mario Kart. It's basically the same track you ran around in high school--a very simple oval. And, as far as racing tracks go, pretty boring, right? Not so my friends. Apparently, Baby Park is all about getting the corners just right. And if you can do that for seven laps, you'll prevail. Well, if you also avoid all the crap that gets thrown around. Shells and mushrooms and dogs and all that too. I have never mastered the corners, but Seann and Jesse are pros. So when they get together, it's really fun to watch. And to hear.
And it reminds us of how much fun it is to have Jesse in the house.
